Invitations for a Super Mario Party

Everybody loves the good old Super Mario Characters.  A party like this could bring you back to the good old days, where video games had one character with whom you went through each simple yet exciting level, killing mushrooms, and fighting off oscillating turtle shells.  The decorations for a party of this could be very very fun.  Imagine having a machine built on which you could mount a fake turtle shell, green or red such as in Mario, and have it oscillate back and forth.  You could order balloons in all the shapes of the different characters in Super Mario.  You could have a big red Mario hanging from the ceiling and possibly an enormous mushroom in one corner of the room.  Organization of a simulation of a Mario level would be very interesting as well.  Imagine having the kids attending the party actually go through a Mario level simulation; I think they’d be talking about that party for a while after that.  The invitations for a Super Mario party should, obviously, be super mario themed.  These party invitations should have Mario characters on the card.  If you are feeling very creative, you might want to actually go to each person’s house and present them with a replica of one the Mario characters.  On the underside of these characters would be the party invitations, the date, time and location.  So get ready to have an incredible time at this Mario themed-party, and be excited to yell “It’s-a-me Mario.”

Gambling Facts and Statistics

In an effort to make distinctions between Web-based personal computer gambling and gambling by mobile phones and interactive television, the Gambling Commission in the U.K. put together a report that was the first in a series. One of the key goals, according to the commission, is to measure participation to get a more accurate view of gambling in Britain.

The commission lists these items among key findings of the January 2009 survey:

•       9.7 percent of 8,000 adults surveyed in the U.K. said they had participated in one of the forms of remote gambling in 2008. This compares to 7.2 percent in 2006 and 8.8 percent in 2007.
•       The people most likely to take part in remote gambling: males between 18 and 44 years of age
•       Most of the people who participated in remote gambling used a personal computer – nearly 3 times more than mobile phone or interactive TV

It’s interesting to note that the consistent increase in participation in the U.K. is primarily due to remote access for Britain’s National Lottery. When these lottery players are separated from the other survey respondents, the numbers indicate that 5.2 percent of the people surveyed took part in some form of remote gambling. The bottom line is that, in the U.K., more than 90 percent of the people don’t gamble online or by some other remote means.

The report also separates respondents based on the type of gambling. For example, only 2.4 percent said they bet on horse racing of some type. Just 1.1 percent played bingo from a remote location. Roulette and blackjack were played by 1 percent of the people surveyed.

The commission has also released similar gambling statistics through June 2009. This report shows a few slight differences from the January data.

•       10.2 percent of 8,000 adults surveyed said they participated in some form of remote gambling in the previous month
•       Remote gambling on a personal computer continued to be the most popular method (8.6 percent)
•       Statistics for various types of games didn’t show any significant changes, as 1.1 percent played blackjack or roulette from a remote location.

In contrast to the low number of people who engage in online, mobile or interactive TV gambling, reports on all gambling for 2007 and 2008 show that 68 percent of the population has tried some form of gambling. This translates to more than 30 million residents. It seems that the Nat

When the study took out the people who only purchased National Lottery tickets, results still show that nearly half of adults have tried gambling of some sort (48 percent). Among those millions of people, 17 percent bet on horse racing and 14 percent played the slots.

•       £84.2 billion devoted to gambling annually

•       Approximately 4,000 licensed operators in the gambling industry

Nintendo Wii Fit Reviews

After 2 weeks of using Wii Fit I ended up gaining two pounds, but since muscle weighs more than fat I am not surprised. Now that I tested how effective they are lets look at the different exercises the game offers.

The games are broken up into four different categories, Yoga, strength training, aerobics and balance. The game lets you choose between a male or female trainer. It gives you a time bank which keeps track of how long you have been excising.

Let’s start with Yoga, this section has the most exercises. Unfortunately when you start most of the exercises are locked. You get started with some strange exercises that girls like to do, so I thought it would be super easy but girl was I wrong. Yoga also has the most exercises that did not use the balance board, which I thought was real strange since the balance board is the main reason we have this game. I preferred to use Yoga as a warm up or warm down exercise.

Strength training is the hardest of all exercises and it should be. There are all the exercises you should doing in a normal workout. Instead of unlocking more exercises towards the end you unlock challenges against the personal trainer. These exercises also have so some that did not use the balance board but instead used the Wii remote. The game reads the remote accurately but will miss one of my moves once in a while. They even offer the choice to up your weight using a water bottle for your sets, but it is a little hard to hold.

Aerobic games are the ones I tended to do most often, they have four different kinds of games. Hula hoops may look simple but it may tire you out fast. Step aerobics which you have to step on the balance board in rhythm to the music an instructions the tv. Boxing is more like step aerobics, boxing and stepping according to the music. It is boring and takes too long. My favorite of the whole game is running. You put the remote in your pocket and you start running in place, it is just that simple. As you play more you can unlock longer tracks, a second player option and my favorite a free run.

Then there is the balance games, soccer heading, ski slalom, ski jump, table tilt, tight rope, balance bubble, penguin slide, snow boarding and zazen. I particularly like ski jumping and you can play over again. Unlike Zazen which is game you sit still for minutes at a time looking at a candle. No I am not kidding, that is the whole game.

There is a fifth option which is called favorites, which looks at which games you play the most and puts them one page so that you can access them easily. It would have been great if we could this screen to set up our own workouts and go to the next one on the list after you have completed exercises. That is my biggest complain about this game it forgets that you want to use as an exercise program and not just a game. When you finish an exercise it gives you two options, quit or retry.

Retry, I just finished that exercise why would I want to do it again? How about an option to move on to the next exercise. Because of this huge oversight your 30 minute workouts would not have taken twice as long you have to continuously quit, select new exercises, waiting for the board to recalibrate then you can do the exercise. It was just a big hassle. There are suggestions once in a while on which exercises you should do next but that should be available after every exercise. I had no idea what exercises I should be doing, so I ended up just picking them randomly and hoping I was getting a balanced workout.

Poker Tournaments Rules

Every game has some rules to play. With this article we are offering information on poker tournaments rules.

By participating in any tournament, you agree to abide by the rules and behave in a courteous manner. A violator may be verbally warned, suspended from play for a specified length of time, or disqualified from the tournament. Chips from a disqualified participant will be removed from play.

1. Whenever possible, all rules are the same as those that apply to live games.

2. Initial seating is determined by random draw or assignment. (For a one-table satellite event, cards to determine seating may be left faceup so the earlier entrants can pick their seat, since the button is assigned randomly.)

3. A change of seat is not allowed after play starts, except as assigned by the director.

4. The appropriate starting amount of chips will be placed on the table for each paid entrant at the beginning of the event, whether the person is present or not. Absent players will be dealt in, and all chips necessary for antes and blinds will be put into the pot.

5. If a paid entrant is absent at the start of an event, at some point an effort will be made to locate and contact the player. If the player requests the chips be left in place until arrival, the request will be honored. If the player is unable to be contacted, the chips may be removed from play at the discretion of the director anytime after a new betting level is begun or a half-hour has elapsed, whichever occurs first.

6. A starting stack of chips may be placed in a seat to accommodate late entrants (so all antes and blinds have been appropriately paid). An unsold seat will have such a stack removed at a time left to the discretion of the director.

7. Limits and blinds are raised at regularly scheduled intervals.

8. If there is a signal designating the end of a betting level, the new limits apply on the next deal. (A deal begins with the first riffle of the shuffle.)

9. The lowest denomination of chip in play will be removed from the table when it is no longer needed in the blind or ante structure. All lower-denomination chips that are of sufficient quantity for a new chip will be changed up directly. The method for removal of odd chips is to deal one card to a player for each odd chip possessed. Cards are dealt clockwise starting with the 1-seat, with each player receiving all cards before any cards are dealt to the next player. The player with the highest card by suit gets enough odd chips to exchange for one new chip, the second-highest card gets to exchange for the next chip, and so forth, until all the lower-denomination chips are exchanged. If an odd number of lower-denomination chips are left after this process, the player with the highest card remaining will receive a new chip if he has half or more of the quantity of lower-denomination chips needed, otherwise nothing.

10. An absent player is always dealt a hand, and will be put up for blinds, antes, and the forced bet if low.

11. A player must be present at the table to stop the action by calling “time.”

12. If you are not present when it becomes your turn to act, your hand is dead. This includes situations in which a live blind is not present to act, since an absent player cannot exercise the option to raise.

13. As players are eliminated, tables are broken in a pre-set order, with players from the broken tables assigned to empty seats at other tables.

14. The number of players at each table will be kept reasonably balanced by the transfer of a player as needed. With more than six tables, table size will be kept within two players. With six tables or less, table size will be kept within one player.

15. In all events, there is a redraw for seating when the field is reduced to three tables, two tables, and one table. (Redrawing at three tables is not mandatory in small tournaments with only four or five starting tables.)

16. A player who declares all in and loses the pot, then discovers that one or more chips were hidden, is not entitled to benefit from this. That player is eliminated from the tournament if the opponent had sufficient chips to cover the hidden ones (A rebuy is okay if allowable by the rules of that event). If another deal has not yet started, the director may rule the chips belong to the opponent who won that pot, if that obviously would have happened with the chips out in plain view. If the next deal has started, the discovered chips are removed from the tournament.

17. If a player lacks sufficient chips for a blind or a forced bet, the player is entitled to get action on whatever amount of money remains. A player who posts a short blind and wins does not need to make up the blind.

Video Games For Kids

When you think about video games for kids, you might be wondering which console to go with. There are three basic models on the market (not including handhelds like the Nintendo DS or PSP). There is the Nintendo Wii, the PlayStation 3, and the Xbox 360. Knowing the differences between these models can help you choose what is best for your child and your family as a whole.

The Nintendo Wii is probably the most popular for children. That is because it is so interactive and has tons of games for kids. You’ll find beloved characters like Mario and others, fitness games, educational games, and games that are just plain fun. When in doubt, definitely go for the Nintendo Wii! What’s even better is that the price on the console has dropped dramatically lately, making it ultra-affordable for many families out there. It even comes with a sports game (that includes games like tennis, baseball, and bowling) that is fun for the whole family.

The PlayStation 3 is also very popular. Many families get this one because there are games available that are perfect for adults and children. Best of all, this one doubles as a Blu-Ray player. In fact, many people find themselves saving money when they get a PlayStation 3 instead of having to get a gaming console and a separate Blu-Ray player. Note that many of the titles available for the PlayStation 3 will be too old in nature for your child. Do what you can to look at the game’s ratings and examine games that are age appropriate.

The Xbox 360 is another good choice. Once again, there are games that are good for adults and games that are good for children. There is also an online marketplace where you can purchase fun arcade games and other types of games right from the comforts of home (note that the other two consoles to have this feature as well). For older members of the family and teenagers, there is an Xbox live portion that allows you to play against people from all over the world — a very popular addition.

To sum it all up, the Nintendo Wii is something you can’t go wrong with. However, if you want to consider the needs of older children, teenagers, and other adults, you may want to look at one of the other options as well. Some families end up with more than one console, while others find that just one suits them well. It’s a great thing to choose the best console for kids because this is a great way to have fun, learn, and stay interactive!
